Microsoft has brought some significant modifications in this interface while referring to Windows 8 and named it as Windows Recovery Environment. However, it is not as simple to access through it as it used to be in the recent times.

- Step 1 : Download Systimizer – PC Cleaner Tool (Compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7 & XP)
- Step 2 : Click “Scan” to find Windows issues
- Step 3 : Click “Fix” to eliminate all troubles
Restart your system and press F8 key hundred times to make nothing happen. That does not mean the feature is outlawed for the users. It just needs to apply a simple tweak and make the feature enable for yourself. No doubt, there must be some reason for doing so, might be the safety purpose.
Anyways, let us enlighten you with a proper go through procedure to arrive at this interface. Learn the steps below to enable an open access.
- Turn on your PC and let it boot into Windows 8 in a usual way
- Login through a Username with administrative rights
- Go to the Start screen and type the words command prompt and hit Enter
- Click OK on the UAC message to confirm your action
Before moving further, be sure with the appropriate System Drive Letter for Windows 8 on your PC
- Type the command line C:\Windows\System32 and hit Enter to access the required directory
- (Replace C with your own Windows 8 system drive letter)
- Now type the command BCDEDIT /SET {DEFAULT} BOOTMENUPOLICY LEGACY and hit Enter
You have successfully enabled the Boot menu at this point
- Close down the Command Prompt and Restart your computer
- After you see the manufacturer’s logo press F8 key repeatedly
There you are, displayed with the list of advanced boot options
Access the desired boot modes or troubleshooting tools to take the desired measures. Once you are done with it, you may consider disabling it back as it was earlier. In such a case,
- Restart your computer and boot Windows 8 in the Normal mode
- Repeat all of the above steps until you enter the required directory through command prompt
- Execute the command BCDEDIT /SET {DEFAULT} BOOTMENUPOLICY STANDARD and hit Enter
- Type Exit and hit Enter to close the Command Prompt down
Advanced Boot options are now again skinned back to a hidden place. Note down the above mentioned commands and you can start or shut down the options as per your requirements.
