Resolve Error Code 8000ffff on Your Windows Phone

You may encounter this error code, when you try to download from the Windows phone store or restore a backup on your phone. It just prompts you with an alert stating  “There is a problem completing your request. Try again later. “

The problem occurs:

  • When you have upgraded your phone to a step higher, the applications you recently had may not be compatible with the upgraded Windows, anymore. On restoring your backup after the update process, these apps stand in conflict and cause error.
  • When you change your smartphone or exchange it with a new one, the problem occurs because the apps that were compatible with the previous make may not be compatible with this one. You would have to find those attuned to this one.

Solution

It is now obvious that the problem has caused due to and after the restoration process. Your new version of OS or handset would most probably be successful in restoring your prior settings. But in case of prior apps, you may not be that lucky. Be thankful for the apps, which were effectively restored. For the rest, be patient and remove them manually.

  • Go to the Start screen
  • Swipe your finger on the screen from right to left
  • You will be displayed with the list of apps, including the impractical ones
  • Press and hold a single item to view the Context menu
  • Tap on the Uninstall option to remove the app from list
  • Repeat these steps for each item on the list

Try reconstructing your app list by downloading other applications of your use, for Windows Phone Store. This time there will not be any compatibility issue, as the Store will notify you prior to the download.
